What People Say

Most Liked

The standout dishes at El Malecon receive rave reviews, especially the Caldo de Res, praised for its rich flavors no matter the season. Diners can’t get enough of the homemade lemonade, an excellent complement to the meals. The nopales con camarones ala diabla is another favorite, offering a spicy twist that keeps guests coming back for more. Breakfast fans love the chilaquiles and the variety of egg dishes, including the Huevo A La Mexicana, often seen as a must-try.

Fast service also earns high marks, making it perfect for lunch breaks or quick dinners. The welcoming staff adds warmth to the experience, enhancing the overall charm of the restaurant. The broad selection of both seafood and Mexican comfort food ensures there's something for everyone, capturing the hearts (and appetites) of many.

Most Disliked

While El Malecon has plenty of loyal fans, a few diners mention occasional wait times during peak hours, especially lunch on weekends. Sometimes, the bustling environment can feel overly crowded, particularly on Sundays around 10 AM, which reaches full capacity. A few guests bring up that seating can get tight when the restaurant is at its busiest, impacting their dining experience.

Another common concern includes the limited parking during peak periods, making it a bit tricky for first-time visitors. Frequent diners suggest arriving earlier or opting for takeaway during busy times. Despite these minor inconveniences, the delightful food continues to overshadow these concerns, keeping guests returning.

Great place for seafood. My experience has been great and delicious 😋. I have been here twice. I had the nopales con camarones Ala Diabla. This plate comes with cactus, and shrimp 🍤 tossed in a spicy red sauce.. 😋 They also have homemade lemonade very good... Highly recommend.. Happy Health to all..

My favorite restaurant for Caldo de Res! They never fail to make a delicious caldo no matter the time of day or year. I've been disappointed with other restaurants in Weslaco but never this one! They're quick and staff are very nice. I always recommend this place. ❤️

One of my favorite restaurants in weslaco. Their shrimp Alfredo is so good and taste very home made. For breakfast I always go with the chilaquiles w chicken. The chicken is seasoned and not just boiled. Definitely recommend.

Hands down, one of the best Mexican seafood places around! I had the mocejeta and the food was tasty and never cooled down. Nice friendly waitress, and the place is clean and well decorated. 10 stars of I could!

My first time there and it was super. The waitress was super busy and literallyspeed walking but she was great. The food and price is good. I recommend this place for lunch. Don't know about breakfast but will update once I try it.

I absolutely loved it! The waiters were lovely, everyone was friendly and the food was just amazing! I got the fajita panchos: tortilla chips with cheese, beans, fajita, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado and jalapeño. It was a good size serving and I still had left over food. I will definitely be coming back when they get their alcohol license! Definitely recommend it!

Food was great, they brought out some chips with beans and white cheese on top with some salsa, ordered the fried shrimp and fish and it was hit and delicious. Also ordered fried rice with shrimp
